So, here we go again another possible job lurking in the shadows about to come and scoop up Chris Petersen. Boise State fans have heard it a million times, no way Chris Petersen would ever turn down this school, this pay jump, this competition increase, this opportunity. Only to sit back knowing that no way Chris Petersen would ever take the job being thrown at him. However, if the Oregon job does come calling expect a different level of anxiety from the fan-base. I know I personally have always looked at Oregon as the biggest threat to steal Coach Pete. They are after all in many ways like Boise State with just a ton more financial backing. Oregon is Nike University; the football program has a unlimited bank account funded by Phil Knight. Whatever the coaches need, the coaches get. Continue Reading

Important Games Week 8
USC vs. Oregon
USC has a very high powered offense, and is ready to beat Oregon’s not so good defense. The only reason I say that Oregon doesn’t have a good defense is because, they haven’t played anyone who has a really good offense and when they do this weekend they are going to be surprised, my second reason is they have a couple injured starters on roster. Matt Barkley the starting quarterback for the Trojans, has thrown 20 touchdowns this season and is looking to improve against this weak Ducks offense. I say the USC Trojans win 45-37.
Auburn vs. Ole Mississippi
Auburn is currently #1 in the BCS and has a good chance to keep it with a win over Ole Miss. But columnists on ESPN are saying that Ole Miss has a chance to win. I would have to agree Jeremiah Masoli is looking good and has a chance to lead his team to a victory over the #1 Auburn Tigers. I am going to join the Ole Miss band wagon and say they pull off a great upset 34-31 Ole Miss wins in overtime
Will the Broncos stay at number 3 in the rankings?
Oregon Ducks are looking to move up in the polls this week as they face #9 Stanford at home this Saturday in front of a Nationally televised audience. Boise State, 3-0 and number 3 in the AP and USA Today Coaches poll travel to Las Cruces to face 0-3 New Mexico State this Saturday. If Oregon has a convincing win they could possibly overtake Boise in the Number 3 spot in the polls. Boise State needs a convincing win over The Aggies and that still may not be enough to hold their position in the polls.
If Oregon wins big over Stanford and TCU wins over Colorado State and both of those wins are convincing it may take an act of God to have Boise State hold on to their number 3 ranking. Both Oregon and TCU have a stronger strength of schedule for the remainder of the season. The advantage and disadvantage Oregon holds is the national audience. The Ducks play The Cardinals and the game is on ABC at 8pm eastern. The west coast voters will most likely see the entire game and the east coast voters may not stay up for the finish. It’s the east coast voters that may determine the fate of Boise State. The Broncos game will only be carried locally on KTVB Channel 7 and the score will be all the voters from both coasts will get a chance to see.
